ON FIRST ANNIVERSARY, COMPENDIA BIOSCIENCE ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF MANAGEMENT TEAM AND ACQUISITION OF FIRST TEN CUSTOMERS

Ann Arbor, Mich. (February 13, 2007) — Compendia Bioscience, Inc. today announced results of a productive first year, including the formation of an experienced entrepreneurial management team, acquisition of its first 10 customers — including 8 of the top 20 oncology drug companies — and the completion of funding agreements providing capital for accelerated growth.

Under the leadership of CEO John Freshley, Compendia Bioscience has assembled a diverse management team with decades of experience in leading life science and software industry companies such as Spotfire, Gene Logic, Celera, and I3 Statprobe. Mr. Freshley was previously President and CEO of Ann Arbor-based Genetics Squared and remains on its Board of Directors.

“Compendia Bioscience was formed to commercialize Oncomine, a leading web application serving more than 10,000 users within the academic oncology research community,” said Mr. Freshley.  “We have been very fortunate to identify a management group that is so well qualified to transition Oncomine into a resource as powerful for the commercial sector as it has been for the academic sector.”

Launched with seed funds from Ann Arbor Spark!, Compendia also won funding in the first round of the 21st Century Jobs Fund from the State of Michigan, along with matching funds provided by private investors. Additionally, the company has received early revenue by closing licensing agreements with its first 10 customers, including many leading oncology research organizations.
