SCIENTIST, TRANSLATIONAL MEDICINE
The Translational Medicine team at Compendia Bioscience is growing. Translational Medicine leverages Compendia's global collection of cancer genomic data and its internal bioinformatics expertise to deliver state-of-the-art translational medicine solutions. One example is OncoPredictor™, which identifies predictive biomarkers from large panels of human cancer cell lines and corresponding cancer patient subsets with matching biomarker profiles. Other activities within Translational Medicine include target validation, custom gene signature characterization and validation, and companion diagnostics including OncoScore™. Our analyses routinely involve human cancer cell lines, tumor explants and xenografts, and the world’s largest collection of expertly annotated genomic data from clinical specimens spanning all major cancer types and subtypes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD and/or MD preferred.
- Demonstrated success in biopharma or academia.
- Demonstrated scientific excellence exemplified by a significant lead author publication and/or significant contributions to biopharma programs.
- Experience in translational medicine, cancer biology, biopharma, cancer genomics, biomarkers, and/or statistics highly desired.
- Three years post-graduate work experience desired.
ROLES: Execute translational medicine and companion diagnostics projects as part of a collaborative team of scientists and bioinformatics experts.
COMPANY CULTURE: Compendia's culture reflects the intellectual inquisitiveness and diverse abilities of our people. It is a place where advanced technology intersects with cutting edge scientific research: where an ad hoc meeting might be about a new next-generation sequencing technology, a new statistical analysis technique, a new dynamic visualization approach, a new application of ontology-based knowledge representation to search techniques, or an exciting new cancer research discovery. We are looking for people who are excited by such an environment, who like to learn, and who will contribute their own unique perspectives to our collective understanding of how we can harness the global collection of genomic data to help cure cancer.
